Apple today released the first update to its Apple Watch operating system: Watch OS 1.0.1. The update brings with it a number of updates to the Watch's Siri, fitness features, accessibility and extended Emoji and language support.
I'm happy to see improvements being made it the Stand feature — ideally it will now be better able to tell when the wearer has been stood for an extended period of time even if they have been mostly stationary. The vague "Third party apps" update will hopefully improve performance in that area. The slow loading of apps was one of the main pain points described in the early reviews.
Watch OS 1.0.1 is available to download via the Software Update section of the Apple Watch app on iPhone. To find it, tap My Watch > General > Software Update.
